Overview
This course teaches students micro soldering skills and knowledge to diagnose and repair common logic board issues. This is a hands on course where students work on current devices with the latest equipment. Students should have some repair experience taking apart and repairing mobile devices, but do not need any previous soldering experience as we begin by teaching the fundamentals of soldering and will progress into micro soldering reading schematics and repairing logic board issues. Students will learn how to repair common issues such as damaged FPC connectors, backlights, iPhone 6/6+ touch disease and other common issues seen by repair stores. After students learn the basics we'll spend time troubleshooting and working on live devices that have real problems that need to be fixed, students are encouraged to bring some of their own Apple devices with issues to troubleshoot and repair during the class. Students will also learn skills they can utilize to repair other issues that they may not have seen in class.
We've updated our course to include a full day of MacBook logic board troubleshooting and repair
