Game Console Cleaning - Overheating

A customer brought us this PS4 the other day because it was overheating. Typically this happens when the inside of the gaming console becomes dirty which prevents the console from being able to cool properly. Gaming console manufacturers install fans in gaming consoles (PlayStations, Xbox's, Nintendo's and others) fans that bring in air to cool the gaming console. When the gaming console is used it generates heat from the electricity flowing through it and without proper cooling the system will overhead and malfunction.

Here are some pictures of the inside of the PS4 we recently cleaned that was brought in for overheating.







Over time, the gaming console fans that circulate air also bring in dust and dirt that sticks to the inside of the console. The dirt build up decreases airflow and stops the fans from being able to do their job of cooling the inside of the console. It's a good idea to periodically clean the inside of the console so it doesn't overheat. A good cleaning can help prolong the life and performance of your gaming console. Most game console cleanings are affordable and only cost $69 for retail customers.
